Description -
We are looking for outstanding Oracle DBAs who are keen to join our young and fast-growing consultancy firm located in Auckland.
Our Oracle DBAs will design, install and support various installations for clients; monitor and tune performance; work on improvements and data analysis needs'; and provide database and system administration and data processing expertise to the development team.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Installing, maintaining, tuning and troubleshooting Oracle Databases

Managing the entire SDLC from requirements interpretation, design, documentation, coding, review, testing, release, and maintenance for new installations

Administering all database objects - tables, clusters, indexes, view, sequences, packages and procedures.

Schedules and optimizes maintenance tasks such as reorg/re-index, updates statistics to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Reorganizes databases structures at regular intervals to provide an efficient database environment that will maximize productivity and improve performance.

Analyzes, tests, and implements database design supporting various business applications for development, integrated test and production environments.

Designs, implements, and enforces the client's data security policies.

Responsible for logical and physical database design, backup and recovery strategy including disaster recovery, high availability, load strategy design and implementation, security, and change management.

Provides first-level application support in Oracle and Postgres database environments running on Linux and Windows servers. Facilitate application development and customer problem resolution with optimum speed and efficiency.

Conduct application transaction volume and traffic analysis assessing the impact of database performance. Monitor database growth and usage to ensure optimum performance and stability in a production environment.

Design and configure database architecture, including hardware and physical layout.

Perform data refreshes on request

Identifies and leads strategic database initiatives, including upgrades, new technology and processes (e.g., patches, compliance, security), and new roles; engages the appropriate cross-functional technical resources to determine solutions, recommend outcomes and drive project plan through to timely completion.
REQUIREMENTS

Practical Oracle DBA experience, preferably in production 24x7x365 environments

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

6 years of specialized experience in the following:

Oracle 12c database administration
-
Clusters (Oracle RAC)
-
Database patching on Oracle 12c, RAC
-
Database installation and upgrade with Oracle 11g and 12c on RAC
-

Communication and coordination across cross-functional teams regarding patching and upgrades

Experience troubleshooting existing Configurations
-
Experience with Agile Development
